ROMANO BLINKS

The lawsuit by restaurateur Phil Romano against the News over its Il Mulino review that spurred our December 2004 cover--showing Romano as a baby with a bowl of spaghetti dumped on his head--has been settled. Romano dropped it when the News said it would review the restaurant again sometime. No cash changed hands; each side will pay its own legal fees. This was the first known instance of a lawsuit in Texas over a restaurant review, and the outcome was entirely predictable. Oddly, the lawsuit was dismissed on Dec. 9, but the News only reported it today [no link].
