AT&T Cowboys Death Star in Arlington had been one of six cities vying to host Super Bowl LII (52), which will be played in 2018. According to NFL.com, however, North Texas wasn’t named one of the finalists for the privilege/burden.
Instead, after hearing pitches from six competing cities during the NFL fall meeting this week, the team owners named Indianapolis, Minneapolis, and New Orleans the finalists. One of those sites will be chosen next spring.
So consider who we’ve lost out to here:
— Minneapolis. Minnesota, which has roughly the same climate as Siberia.
— New Orleans. Home of the Super Dome, which hosted Super Bowl XLVII, better known as the Blackout Bowl.
— Indianapolis. Look, we know that Dallas is not a geographically gorgeous place. There are no majestic mountains looming in the distance. There are no lovely beaches. But compared to Indianapolis? Come on.
