In a lawsuit filed last month, Dallas Cowboys players Miles Austin, Anthony Spencer, and Brandon Carr (plus former Cowboys player Sterling Moore) are being sued by the parents of a boy who attended the Anthony Spencer Football Camp in July on the University of North Texas’ Denton campus. The suit states that the camp was “supervised by and subject to the control” of the players.
James Jackson Sr. and Paula Jackson are asking for more than $1 million in damages. They claim that during the camp their son, James Jr., was allowed to go swimming with other campers and nearly drowned. He was spotted at the bottom of the pool, pulled out, and rushed to the hospital. There were reportedly five lifeguards on duty at the time and between 100 and 125 kids in the water.
The Jacksons claim their son suffered physical and mental anguish, disfigurement, physical impairment, future medical expenses, and loss of future earning capacity.
