Police Departments Participate in Tweet-a-Thon. Police departments across the country, including Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Grand Prairie, and Denton, are giving their Twitter followers a virtual ride-along on Friday. So it’s like Cops, but without the visuals or catchy theme song.
Saturday’s Men Against Abuse Rally Obviously Needed. I’ve been a little tough on the Mayor’s Saturday rally. I think it’s an interesting idea, but I’ve had a hard time seeing the action items after Saturday. However, after reading about this and this, it’s obvious something has to happen. I think Saturday will be a step in the right direction.
DeSoto Students Get Scholarships to TCU. I know it’s not news that people get scholarships, but I really liked this quote from one of the scholarship recipients so I’m making it news: “This scholarship means so much to me because I have a younger sister,” said Ernest Dominick to CBS 11. “My parents have to only pay for one collegiate education, that’s a blessing in itself. I feel I’m giving back to them for all of the time they put into my life. I’m able to give this back to them and say ‘You don’t have to worry about it. I’ve got this!’”
