Making Dallas Even Better

Friday Fun: Tim Tebow Edition

What a great little run we all had there, telling a grown man where he shouldn’t spend his Sundays. In honor of Mr. Tebow, today’s game is Superstar Football. It’s exactly like it sounds.

For a soundtrack (if you refuse to listen to one of the greatest albums of all-time, above), let’s go with: Bobby Bare, “Dropkick Me Jesus Through The Goalposts of Life;” Patti Smith, “Gloria;” Kenny Starr, “The Blind Man in the Bleachers.”

Any friend of The ‘Mats is a friend of mine. Personally, I prefer Let It Be and Inconcerated.

    Tim
    Let it Be
    Sorry Ma…
    Pleased to Meet Me
    Hootenanny

The other two don’t really register.

There was more than two other official releases not listed above. 1) Stink, 2) When the Sh1t Hits the Fans, 3) Boink!, 4) Don’t Tell a Soul and 5) All Shook Down. And you’re right, the last two aren’t worth a damn.

  • BradfordPearson

Eh, okay. Stink was an EP, Boink! contained mostly tracks from that and Hootenanny, and Sh!t was live. If I had to re-rank, I’d probably put all of them under Hootenanny.

Also: didn’t expect to have this thorough of a Mats conversation today, but I wish I could do it more.

Then I suggest we bring Mr. Wilonsky into the mix. He’s a consummate ‘Mats fan. BTW, you need to listen to this. http://bit.ly/W9FgU2

Sh1t was live, but maybe 1/2 were their songs. It was the last release on the Twin/Tone label. Only released on cassette.
