UPS Will Soon Yank Funding From Boy Scouts

United Parcel Service is set to adopt a new non-discrimination policy, one that will sever funding to the Irving-based Boy Scouts of America, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation reported yesterday.

According to the UPS Foundation’s Global Investment Strategy:

The UPS Foundation seeks to support organizations that are in alignment with our focus areas, guidelines, and non-discrimination policy. UPS and The UPS Foundation do not discriminate against any person or organization with regard to categories protected by applicable law, as well as other categories protected by UPS and The UPS Foundation in our own policies. These include, but are not limited to race, gender, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran or military status, pregnancy, age and religion.

This comes on the heels of the BSA’s October release of its “perversion files,” made public by the Oregon Supreme Court.

UPS’s charitable foundation donated $167,000 to the Scouts in 2010, according to GLAAD. National BSA board-member and CEO of Dallas-based AT&T Randall Stephenson also called for an end to the group’s anti-gay policies this summer.

Problem is, no one at the BSA will worry about $167,000. Look over the 2010 non-profit exemption form below; the group still has $1.03 BILLION in total assets. The UPS Foundation’s move is great, sure, but the actual damage it will do is negligible.

    Yank, huh?

Well aren’t you a clever little Bartlett.

The BSA is a socialist organization taking charity from anybody that’ll dole it out to em, and as a proud Texan we don’t take no handouts. Yippie Kay Yay, mofos.

It is not about whether UPS’s lack of donation has an impact on the BSA, but the impact the prior donation was having on UPS. There is a clean feeling that comes with ridding yourself of tainted relationships. UPS will now be able to enjoy that feeling.

The folks who vilify the Boy Scouts for not doing enough to prevent male on male sexual assault are the same people clamoring for them to allow gay men to supervise little boys. The Scouts can’t win. Good for them for taking a politically incorrect but moral stand.

FACTS: 1. UPS upper managment has a huge percentage of lesbians. 2. UPS forces all their Managment to give to United Way. UPS systematically distributes “contribution” cards with “suggested” donation dollar amounts based on employee level. Employee’s are required to return the cards but “not forced to contribute”. If “contributions” are not high enough, then employees are asked to revaluate. Empoyees that contribute at the UPS “suggested” level are openly recongnized….a creative was to shame other into contributing. I don’t have anyhing against United Way but UPS bulling employes to giving and then pushing their gay agenda should be illegal.
