Making Dallas Even Better

Robert Jeffress: Obama Is “Paving the Way for … the Antichrist”

An alert FrontBurnervian points us to the news that First Baptist Dallas’ pastor, Robert Jeffress, knows how to generate headlines. From his Sunday sermon:

“I want you to hear me tonight, I am not saying that President Obama is the Antichrist, I am not saying that at all. One reason I know he’s not the Antichrist is the Antichrist is going to have much higher poll numbers when he comes. President Obama is not the Antichrist. But what I am saying is this: the course he is choosing to lead our nation is paving the way for the future reign of the Antichrist.”

You must admit: the line about the Antichrist’s poll numbers is a good one.

Is it really news, if Robert Jeffress says something stupid and offensive?
Seems to me like it’d be news if he didn’t.

why, why, why does first baptist still have a federal tax exemption? this is obviously political activity by a tax-exempt organization, which is prohibited. but, it seems like the rules just don’t apply to first baptist.

If Obama loses the election today you can thank the bamboozling indoctrinations of the far right. The entire globe overwhelming supports our president while the fringe sect of conservatism demonizes and degrades him to no end. Most of this is financed by the rich who want to keep their stranglehold on the flow of wealth in our country with their niggardization of Freedom of Speech. The racism of yesteryear has come full circle and you can watch the rich white hands applying the Blackface to our first African-American President on my artist’s blog at

So if Mitt has higher poll numbers after tonight; does that make him the Antichrist?

So I will know the Antichrist not by 666, but by really good poll numbers? I must have missed that section in Revelations. Follow the Zogby Poll to find the way to the Lord!

Anything he says is not worth reading. A fateful combination of thinking you know everything while being clueless about a lot of things.

So embarrassing for Dallas and his congregation. Will it ever end?

Social commentator and former alter-boy George Carlin sums it up, “Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there’s an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever ’til the end of time! But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He’s all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can’t handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more.”
