We’re not the only city grappling with ugly highways running through our downtown. USA Today has a look at several cities, just like Dallas, that are capping those roads with parks. Linda Owens, president of the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation, gets top billing. She says the park will be an economic engine and that we are creating oceanfront property. Does that mean we’re going to have to contend with fat European men in Speedos? If so, I call do-over.

If Woodall leaves me, I won’t miss it,
And I won’t ever take it back.
It’s ugly memory, won’t ever haunt me,
Cause I don’t love it, now if you’ll buy that…
I suspect the park will likely become a haven for criminals and other nefarious denizens of Dallas’s “Mean Streets.”
im pretty excited about this park. the lack of urban green spaces in Dallas is a downright travesty.
the ATT-PAC grounds is right up that alley. what a joke. how could anyone allow that much concrete to be put in? this is Texas, it gets just a tad bit hot in the summer here. let’s add a bunch of concrete! sounds great.
with that said, i think the new Main St Park and Woodall Parks will slowly begin to change downtown for the better.
Yes, this will really make the arts district shine, although it has been a drag going through the canyon to get to I35 from Central
