1. Security staff at Town East Mall in Mesquite swept in to protect the good people of Pleasant Grove, who were under assault by stupid T-shirts.
2. Dallas Can! Academy students love that chicken from Popeyes. But not as much, allegedly, as they love smoking pot in the bathroom.
3. The recession has hit Death Row. A report from an anti-capital punishment group shows that death sentences are down nationwide, including in Texas. And among the causes for the drop, they say, is the economic downturn, which has district attorneys declining to pursue the death penalty because of the added expenses involved.

I had no idea that mall officials could seize vendors merchandise. Either I greatly under estimate the power of the mall, or there must be some strong contracts in place.
I guess Pleasant Grove fails to see how they just totally re-enacted the whole t-shirt theme. Humor = #WIN / Chamber = #FAIL
The DMN article implied that the t-shirt vendor had broken a law or could be fined. I’m not sure what law has been enacted that would be so blatantly unconstitutional, but I’m pretty sure that it wouldn’t stand up in court.
State-sanctioned murder is an unjustfiable expense, period, recession or no recession. Let’s hope this leads the US to catch up with rest of the civilized world and ban the death penalty all together.
I’m kind of on the fence on about the death penalty. Then I read Rachel’s self-righteous tripe and went out to get my own sodium thiopental kit.
Re: CAN Academy. Popeye’s and bathroom pot smoking?! What man is strong enough to resist that temptation?
On the T-shirts, what happened to free speech in this country? What law was broken? I suspect that the only law broken was by the security people stealing the shirts. Wait until the ACLU hears about this.
Dallas Can Academy students are smoking pot on their way to school outside around the blocks near the lavanderia and Sonic. They were polite about it though when I asked them nicely not to smoke before they go to classes. The boys smiled and hid the reefer in their hands as they headed towards the campus down Ross.
