Does Dallas Really Have Party Crashers?

Surprise, surprise! The White House has just discovered the indoor sport of party crashing. Is this social faux pas exclusive to the Beltway? Evidently not, according to SweetCharity’s society types.

Know any good stories about successful or nearly-successful shenanigans?

  1. A few years ago there was a guy who was notorious for party crashing the Cattle Baron’s Ball and other high society shindigs. Cannot remember his name at the moment. My wife(girlfriend at the time) was working one of the entrance tables. They had photos of him in case he tried to slip by. Somehow he made it in.

There were a couple local stories about him crashing stuff for sport.

  2. I totally plan to crash a few holiday parties this year just to get inside the homes and snap pic for DallasDirt! Never know what’s hiding under the mink…

  3. My in-laws were once accidental party crashers.

They left a wedding ceremony, followed the directions to the reception (at a house in a swanky neighborhood in Houston) and dropped the keys with the valet. The house was beautiful and they grabbed a glass of wine and headed out to a balcony. They were eyeing the crowd for the one person they knew at this wedding (a celebration for a co-worker’s step son) and soon realized that they were slightly underdressed for this crowd. They hadn’t felt that way at the church, so it dawned on them that they might have ended up at another party in the same neighborhood (they had).

The wine was apparently spectacular, so they enjoyed the rest of their glasses, enjoyed the scenery for a few moments, and casually slipped out to grab the valet again.

Once they arrived at the correct house (one street over) they re-valeted and were disappointed all night by the wine selections…

  4. Why on earth would anyone want to gate crash any of the insipid “parties” in Dallas. Too full of the self centered, self promoting, selfish and botoxed types.
