FrontBurner Is All-Powerful, Fixes Downtown One Problem at a Time

Earlier this month, I mused on the unsightly, maladjusted pavers in the sidewalk in front of the Meyerson. A formerly elected FrontBurnervian passes along this photo that shows the problem is now being remedied.

  1. Doubt there’s a causal connection… 2 week turnaround is highly unlikely. Hate pavers in general, they’re always scuffing my stilettos.

  3. @Informed Citizen: Actually, FrontBurner does deserve a bit of the credit. The great Veletta Lill, queen bee of the Arts District, reads the blog. She saw the post and made things happen.

Want to know how powerful she is? Yesterday afternoon she sent me that picture. I replied with a complaint about missing pavers in the intersection of Pearl and Flora. Yesterday a piece of rubble from the broken pavers was shot by a car tire at a group of us waiting to cross the street. If someone had been hit, it would have hurt. A head shot would have caused damage.

I told all this to Veletta yesterday at 3:15. When I walked to my car at 5:30, the potholes had been filled with asphalt, and the broken pavers had been moved out of the road.
