In case you missed it — and you probably did, since the Dallas Morning News has always treated him like a Hawaiian-shirt-favoring stepchild — Gerry Fraley is back with the paper, after three years or so filing copy in St. Louis. Always enjoyed his work, so it’s good to see him back.

NEW YORK Belo Corp. president/CEO Dunia A. Shive has been named to the Associated Press’ board of directors.
Shive, who will serve a three-year term, has served as president and CEO of Dallas-based Belo Corp. since February 2008. She served as its president and chief operating officer from November 2007 to February 2008, and from February 2006 through November 2007 she was president/Media Operations, with oversight of all of Belo’s television, cable news and interactive media operations and two of its three major newspapers.
A member of the Board of Directors of Belo Corp. and a member of the National Association of Broadcasters Television Board of Directors, Shive also has been a member of Belo’s Management Committee since 1998.
The AP board has 18 directors elected by AP members at its annual meeting, in staggered classes of six each year. These directors are elected to three-year terms and are eligible to serve up to a total of nine years.
Shive isn’t jumping ship – as far as I know the AP BoD is made up of current executives from media companies.
I’m happy to see both Gerry and Evan back at SportsDay. If they could modify that content sharing agreement with Brand X and have two of the nation’s best baseball writers actually cover baseball, they’ll really have something.
DMN, just remember not to let either of them near a football (soccer) pitch. These poor, tortured souls no not of the world’s game!
