Is manslaughter a real offense? Because i’m pretty sure that’s what they’ll be charged with once their inability to read traffic signs causes them to kill someone.
Doug, have you ever driven in a foreign land? Was it really that hard to discern the traffic signs even if you weren’t fluent in the mother tongue? Somehow, I’ve managed to muddle through even in those places where the Queen Mother had them driving on the wrong side of the road. Or to put it bluntly, is arresting a 20-year U.S. citizen really ok with you just because she doesn’t speak your official language? I’m jumping to a conclusion here, but how’s your Cherokee?

She wasn’t arrested, and a person who doesn’t bother learning the language of the country they’re living in most likely isn’t going to bother learning the rules of the road either. Maybe they’ll be fine, maybe not, but my life is more important to me than hurting your politically correct feelings. So learn the language or take the bus.

FrontBurner® launched in March 2003, the first blog in Dallas run by a media organization. This is where the editors of D Magazine preemptively out themselves for sleeping with co-workers before anyone can blackmail them with a movie script detailing their indiscretions.
