Bob Sturm has a real job. Well, he’s got a day job, anyway. He’s got a wife and family. And yet over on InsideCorner today, he has put up a 2,600-word post about the Cowboys-Falcons game this weekend. It’s insane — in a good way. As Eric has pointed out, I’m not a sports fan. So I don’t understand anything that Bob wrote. But I can tell — like when my doc shows me my EKG strip — that it’s important stuff, meaningful to those who’ve been trained to read it. Last night, Bob’s small children probably sat naked on the kitchen floor and ate dinner out of a cereal box. All the while, he was click-clacking away at his computer, breaking down every aspect of the upcoming game for us. God love him. Go, Cowboys.
his new nanny Reagan tended to Sally and the kids last night, I heard Sandy enjoyed it
He has become Norm. At that is not a compliment. It takes a large ego to think people will read his entire post.
@PR: Is that why Bob smelled like pickled eggs the last time I saw him?
I’m not sure why you’d make such an ad hominem attack on Bob unless you worked for ESPN. If you think his analysis is off, let’s hear it. I can tell you from having met the man, Bob doesn’t have a fraction of Gordon’s ego. Not even close.
Tim,
Not an ESPN employee or ESPN fan. In fact, if it wasn’t for noon-3PM on KTCK I would be a proud P-1 … guess that makes me a P-1.5. And yes, I think Bob’s analysis is usually correct even when he is just repeating what he has heard from TV broadcasters. I guess my complaint with his writing, as with his performance on The Ticket, is that you would think that a professional sports reporter with 10+ years experience would have learned to self edit.
Now you, Tim, when it comes to local journalists, are my idol. Direct and to the point.
Stay hard.
