This morning University Park Police took Cynthia Martinez into custody for a second time, for working as a masseuse without a license. That’s the type of business she claimed to have been operating when she was arrested last month for prostitution.
Does this mean the cops aren’t entirely confident in their prostitution charges against her?
UPDATE: University Park Police Chief Gary Adams answers my question: “Not at all.”
If I had a dime for every informal ‘massage’ I’ve had in those Park Cities by an unregulated talent, I could hit a RossForLess sale rack. Or at least put a canned ham in layaway. Somewhere.
Just wondering if Frontburner would have put this up as a topic if it had been in Garland, Mesquite or Carrollton?
@ city Girl: Would you have read it if it were about Garland, Mesquite or Carrollton? Would it be of the slightest interest at all to anyone? The question answers itself. Which is why you asked it. But which also makes me tired.
I just wish Dallas and other cities cared as much about code enforcement and neighborhood stablility as UP. She admitted to running a business out of her house, which violates city ordinances. She admitted to giving full body, nude massages, which requires a state license — which license she allowed to expire. Good for the UP police. Good for her neighbors for taking a stand against an illegal business in their community.
This is the way it’s supposed to work. My NW Dallas neighborhood would not be in decline if Dallas PD and Code Enforcement took city laws seriously.
As I said on DallasArena.com, the UP PD is protecting neighborhoods one wh***house at a time. Good work!
While I find several aspects of this amusing, who would not agree living next to her would be sub-optimal?
