Dechard obviously has no shame. All of his employees suffer. And yet, he continues to get richer and richer. He should be so proud to preside over the death of a once great, and still occasionally good newspaper. How sad for all of Dallas.

Oh please! The raise is based on what merits? That is pathetic that he would even consider accepting the raise after all of the employees that have been let go and the demise of his organization. Pathetic!
Uh Art, your assertion that “Dechard (sic) …continues to get richer and richer,” flies in the face of observable facts. A large portion of his net worth is in Belo and A.H. Belo stock. It’s a lead-pipe cinch that Decherd is getting poorer and poorer.
The “free market” at its finest, I bet these guys spend a lot of time complaining about worker’s lack of loyalty.
Look, cut the guy a break. Sure, he went to Harvard, but seriously, who other than the family business would have let him play “Media Mogul”? He’s like the rest of us now — just trying to hold on until Social Security kicks in.
