TCU Football Coach To Be Kansas State Football Coach … ?

A sportsy FrontBurnervian passes along this report that reports TCU Head Coach Gary Patterson has accepted the head coaching position at Kansas State. Horned Frogs frowny face? Or smiley face?

Update: As seen in the comments, Patterson denied the report, and the linked-to site has removed the item.

  2. First, the loss to the “Utes” in the final minutes, now we lose one of the best college coaches in Texas…this must be one of the worst 24-hour periods in TCU history.

  4. Great for him… Bad for TCU… Great for K-State. He will make a good Big 12 coach. K-State will be running with the big boys in a couple of years.

  5. Can I also blame this on Obama? What a terrible week.

  6. While Patterson is certainly a candidate for the job, this report is not sourced or verified by anyone at either school. I checked the Web sites of papers that cover Kansas State and didn’t see any articles on it.
So this may be a bit premature, Frog fans. If Patterson was to leave TCU, it wouldn’t be for a second-class Big 12 program. But as a KU alum, so my bias is showing.

  7. Oops. Take out the word “so” in that last sentence. I’m upset that KSU fired a coach who was 0-3 against the Jayhawks, including a 52-21 defeat last Saturday.

  8. Hopefully this will bring some more strength to the Big 12 North. This has been a great season for the Big 12 as a whole and it is finally getting the recognition that it’s deserved. Although the Big 12 north has been a disapointment this year, this move can only improve the overall conference.

  18. Hopefully one that knows how to spell field, too.

Mangiant could eat your coach, when you get one. And that fact alone is pretty freakin’ awe-inspiring.
