Rep. Dan Branch Needs to Have His Keys Taken Away

The photo you see below of Rep. Dan Branch’s car was taken by an alert, iPhone-wielding FrontBurnervian at Love Field. The Mercedes is clearly parked on Level 3, Row E — but it is also clearly NOT parked in a parking spot. The photo raises two questions: 1) Seriously, dude? 2) Why hasn’t it been towed yet?

Has this person parked at Love recently? They’re ALWAYS out of spots- I’ve used the end of the aisle a number of times (when it’s available) because there’s no signs prohibiting it. Must be a slow news day…

No, you don’t park there. You take your lazy arse up to the top level like everyone else — even if that means you have to walk a little farther.

Hey FF, that’s BS. Two garages, I fly out EVERY week, sometimes TWICE a week and have ALWAYS found a spot. Just because it’s not where you want it, you can’t make the rules up as you go – Rep. Branch and you have to play by the same one’s as everyone else!

It’s ok because “there’s no signs prohibiting it”? I follow the same rule — I killed a man there last week, stole his keys, and drove his car over the edge of the ramp so I could take his space. After all, there are no signs prohibiting it!

Give him a break, he’s not blocking the aisle, taking up 2 spaces, or encroaching on another parking spot.

I’m with Frequent Flier, that first garage is always full, it’s very tough to find a spot – unless of course you are willing to park on the roof, which I am not. For $10 a day I insist on a covered spot.

Hey JG, for $8.37 per day you can insist on and (legally) get a covered spot, a newspaper, and a bottle of water when you leave…at the Parking Spot.

and it’s a mercedes, people! they can park anywhere, like UPS.

Give him a break, perhaps he really had to go and only brought one Depends Diaper and wanted to save it for the plane ride. He needed a quick space to make it into that first toilet at Love as fast as possible. He was probably being courteous to his fellow plane travelers at the expense of his fellow car parkers. I for one would hate to be seated in a section on a flight where a guy had soiled his diapers the whole way.

i bet he has a cougar in his trunk.

HIs car was parked at the end of the row, about 20 yards in front of the handicapped parking, right at the air gate parking doors on the third level. And no, there were no other spots on the way up to the roof, and I did pay $10 to park about 10 feet from the covered parking, and I did walk the extra ways to the air gate pulling my two bags, because I can’t just leave my car sitting out in the middle of the parking deck and expect it to still be there when I get back into town. This stuff from government officials really should hack you off. I can’t believe there would be some who’d try to justify him parking there. Failure of this state official’s to plan doesn’t constitute a parking emergency on our part. I’m glad this is not my representative. Maybe someone planning to run against him in the future should save this for a commercial. Would make a great spot.

Representing the Park Cities! And he serves on the board of the Boy Scouts of America. That makes him special

Probably exercising Texas Transportation Code, Section 681 – Privileged Parking. Nonetheless, to the obvious physically infirmed bloggers JG & FF, get on a health plan. You two are obviously culprits of impeding on handicap parking spaces meant for the physically disabled as well. Your attitudes suggest it’s “all about me” and everyone else can take a hike. Have respect for the law and fellow man. And, sorry if your BMW has to bake in the sun or have dust from a SWA 737 blow on it because you had to park on the roof.

Did anyone bother to check if he was asleep in the car?

  • Dallas Dysfunction

    Wide Stance anyone?

  • MIssing Dots

I’m sure the fine outstanding Branch would never do such a thing. I bet one of his people did this and he is completely unaware of it and would never condone such an action.

  • AJ

I think if you park like this you get the key treatment. I’m sorry; it’s only fair.

  • Wylie H.

Does he get free parking as well (like all the “connected” politicians, their spouses and other folks with a “hook up” appear to get at DFW Airport)?

  • UniversityMeadows

Wylie – That is Love Field not DFW. If you have a “Hook-Up” at Love you do not park in the garage but in the lot behind the terminal that is reserved for employees. This allows you to go through the employee only TSA security check-point.

Not to change the subject, but I think you’re supposed to blur out license plate numbers.

    Please tow ED. Thank you.
