Great story by Barry Horn yesterday in the News about Zach Peters and John Chowder, who rank #1 and #5 nationally in 8th grade boys basketball. Zach plays for Prestonwood Christian Academy, and John — whose journey from the slums of Baltimore (think “The Wire”) to Dallas is a story into itself — plays for God’s Academy, the school run by Tim Miller, named the best kids’ basketball coach in Dallas by us back in 2004.
And as of today, both are wanting to go to Baylor.
They’re ranking 8th grade basketball players? Nationally? That’s nuts.
RE: They’re ranking 8th grade basketball players? Nationally? That’s nuts
Amen to that. I bet those parents are a beating at a ****tail party.
Well, they’re 8th graders because they’re in 8th grade but both are old enough to be 9th graders. The practice of parents holding their kids back so that they’re bigger, stronger and more mature than their classmates is a crock.
Speaking of crocks, Tim Miller may be a great coach (according to D) but God’s Academy is as much a school as Lindsay Lohan is a virgin.
