Former Richardson Preacher in Trouble Again

In 1991, then Dallas freelancer and now D Home editor Rebecca Sherman wrote a series of stories for the DMN’s Sunday magazine, Dallas Life, that uncovered allegations of sexual misconduct against a 29-year-old Richardson minister, Darrell Gilyard. The Baptist wunderkind resigned under pressure. Then, he quietly took over a church in Jacksonville, Florida, which he took from 200 members to more than 9000. Now, eh, well, he’s in trouble again, this time over allegations he sent sexually explicit texts to a minor, forcing him to take a leave of absence. And, let’s hope, a cold shower.

  2. I’m the husband of the victim that helped expose Darrell back in 1991. We live here in Jacksonville, Florida and are currently involved with the situation (including a Televised News Interview) here and are seeking others to step up and come forward to stop this man.
