Yes, D Magazine is for rich people. The average household income of a D reader is $227,400 (for comparison, Tex Mo’s median is $69,938; our median is $147,600). But our readers have a wide range of interests, which include stories about subjects other than rich people. Our readers understand, for instance, that cheese heroin is an important issue — which is why we just published an important story on the topic. So D Magazine is not necessarily about rich people, Reid.
One more thing. According to our media audit, our readership is 19 percent Hispanic, 9 percent black, and 7 percent Asian. That 35 percent of our readership is probably rich, Reid. But it’s not white.
Again, when we have nothing to add, Reid, we keep our mouths shut.
