Return to Front Burner

SHOWDOWN AT SOUTHFORK

Episcopalians from the Dallas diocese meet today and tomorrow at Southfork Ranch to hash out one of the most important questions they've faced: whether to stick with the national Episcopal Church or "disassociate," as congregations like Christ Church in Plano have already done, and seek "oversight" from elsewhere in the worldwide Anglican Communion. The basic issues concern consecration of gay bishops, the election of a woman to be presiding bishop of the American church, and intra-denomination quarreling over the true path.

You've seen some of that on FrontBurner, and also in the October issue of D. But if you're an Episcopalian and want to weigh in yourself, where it counts, maybe you should plan a trip up to Parker this weekend.
