DMN ENDORSES LOSERS
A politically minded FrontBurnervian has noticed that the paper's editorial board isn't picking them so well this cycle:
A pattern of poor due diligence by the Dallas Morning News editorial board on the candidates it endorses is fast emerging. Twice in one week, the DMN has endorsed a candidate, only to report damning facts concerning that candidate in its own pages just days later. First, the DMN followed its endorsement of Amir Omar in the GOP primary in the 30th Congressional District with a report one week later that its chosen candidate "hasn't bothered to vote in any election during his almost decade long tenure in the Dallas area."
Second, and far worse, last week the DMN enthusiastically endorsed Tom Malin in the Democratic Primary for State House District 108, before today revealing that he used to turn tricks as a male prostitute under the name "Todd Sharpe." What is going on over there? Perhaps a bit of background checking is in order before endorsing candidates.
