DALLAS = SPORTS HEAVEN
The city is positively giddy today, and why not? Right before Christmas, four local high schools win state football championships. The recently crappy Cowboys manage to turn in a winning season. The Mavericks and the Stars both look awesome and lead or nearly lead their divisions, and now Texas — which has a gigantic, rabid fan base in Big D — wins the National Championship. So head on over to the water cooler and let's talk about it! How about this quote from ESPN.com's Dan Shanoff: "Best Game Ever?": If you factor in (1) the eye-popping strength of the two teams; (2) the "all-time" status of this USC dynasty; (3) the individual brilliance of the game's MVP, Vince Young; (4) the seesaw scoring culminating with Young's fourth-down TD in the final thrilling minute; and (5) the widely unexpected result, it was the most overwhelmingly breathtaking title game of all time.
Here's the most impressive thing you can say: It lived up to the all-time outrageous levels of pregame hype. When does that ever happen?"
C'mon Wick Allison, UT graduate. Isn't this even more exciting than your Calatrava bridge?
