DALLAS GAL STRIKES GOLD WITH GOLD-DIGGER'S GUIDE
A book-reading FBvian alerts us to a report on Publishers Lunch about a recent book sale. J.C. Conklin was a staff writer in the DMN's business department from 2000 to 2002.
J.C. Conklin's THE DALLAS WOMEN'S GUIDE TO GOLD-DIGGING WITH PRIDE, a humorous romantic comedy that brings to life upper-crust Dallas society--Edith Wharton meets Molly Ivins--and the codes of class, religion and gender, when a Jewish girl from New York enters their midst and social-climbers are exposed for who they really are, to Nancy Miller at Ballantine, in a significant deal.
The FBvian says "significant deal" means $250,000 to $500,000. To that we can only say: nice.
