RE: KATRINA RELIEF
Brian, our web host with the web most, sends a humble plea: Guys: some of my friends are relocating their business here. Figueroa Brothers (who make Melinda's Hot Sauce, Spice Exchange Gourmet products, New Orleans CoffeeWorks coffees and Artista Gourmet Syrups) was completely wiped out by the hurricane. Their production facilities and warehouses were in Kenner out by the airport. They brought 10 employees here and are setting up shop in the offices of their co-packing partners, Jus Made, over on NW Hwy. So far, they have had warehouse space, computers and a phone system donated to help them get restarted. I know they are also looking for places to set up some of these folks to live, and am sure they could use any other assistance possible to get the business going again. Can you ask the FB crowd if they could help out? You can have them contact me with anything. [brianATweblogsworkDOTcom]
Also: on a personal note, we're on the look for any cast off couch, chairs, etc. we could use to set up a condo someone has been nice enough to let us use. I think we're going to be here at least for the next three months, so I'm working on setting up the condo here, getting the kids in school here, etc.
Brian's blog about Slidell is still fighting the good fight.
