On Friday I suggested that you should prove your Texas Rangers fandom by attending a game over the weekend, as the team is in a pretty trying state at the moment. I did just that last night, and suffered through an evening that reached 102 degrees and hovered there for much longer than one would expect. There is much in the way of culinary garishness in the ballpark, but one of the novelty items is frozen Ichiban beer. I had no issue with this menu item at all and would even recommend it. With temperatures as high as they are right now, however, I’d probably drink frozen Windex if they were serving it over at Globe Life Park. The Rangers lost 9 to 3 and it was still a blast.

You may remember Dogfight as the early 90s romantic drama that starred Lily Taylor and River Phoenix a couple of years before the latter actor’s untimely death. It was adapted into a musical in 2012 and was previewed at WaterTower Theatre in Addison over the weekend. It’s the first run for the show outside of New York and opening night curtain is at 7:30 this evening. We have ticket giveaway to a show later in the week, and you can head over to FrontRow for details.

Finally, Boris is performing at Trees tonight. The Japanese band has been around for decades and has evolved quite a bit in that time. The best thing about them is that you’re never quite sure if you’re going to see a metal show or a pop act; they constantly keep their audience guessing.
