    But according to all the New Urbanista types upgrading Abrams and having it go around the shopping center was A Very Bad Thing!

    It looks like they indeed improved the walkability by turning a street into a parking lot. If you were to turn and look to the right you would see this:

    Another option would’ve been to put a freeway down Abrams, which I think was a proposal at one time. Personally I like it how it is. …I can only envision such a nice area underneath I-345.
