  1. Ok, Dallas Police Department, I promise to stop telling my kid that the police will take him to jail if he misbehaves. Instead, I will tell him the truth. I will tell him that the police will shoot him and then lie about it and everyone will believe them unless a surveillance video proves otherwise. Or that they will come over to his house, get drunk and pull their guns on him while telling him that they could kill him and get away with it. Or that they will plant powdered sheetrock in his toy box and arrest him for cocaine possession. Or maybe I’ll tell him that a Dallas police officer will sexually assault him in his squad car while in uniform and on duty.

    After all, we shouldn’t lie to our kids. Especially about the police.
