Neiman Marcus Says 1.1 Million Credit Cards Affected By Data Hack

In a statement on the Dallas-based company’s website, Neiman Marcus CEO Karen Katz says the retailer was made aware of the data breach on January 1, and that customer payment cards used at Neiman’s stores (not online) between last July 16 and October 30 were compromised. That’s about 1.1 million customers whose data was exposed by the malware.

So far the company knows of about 2,400 customer cards that have been used fraudulently after the hack. The cyberintelligence firm IntelCrawler said last week that a 17-year-old Russian man was behind the software used in the attacks on Neiman Marcus and Target.
