Things To Do In Dallas Tonight: Jan. 13

American Hustle, American Genre.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Andy Samberg won Golden Globes while The Mindy Project wasn’t even nominated. Here are some pictures of adorable greyhounds advertising luxury Italian fashion to help ease this pain.

Tonight, the Alamo Drafthouse in Richardson has a surprise for you. Once a month, the Drafthouse plucks a beloved classic or a forgotten gem out of their indie vault, the American Genre Film Archive, and screens it for free in 35 mm. The trick is that you don’t know what you’re getting into. You just have to take it on faith that they know what they’re doing. As a happy coincidence, Carol Shih just happened to post about Vietnamese restaurant La Me‘s amazing egg rolls over on SideDish this morning. I’ve never been to La Me, but I trust Carol and her Richardson dining recommendations.

Meanwhile, if you were planning to attend the lionfish dinner at Driftwood, you will want to make alternate dining arrangements. It’s been postponed due to these crazy-looking fish getting held up at customs, according to Driftwood’s Facebook page. On a nice day like this, I’d take advantage of Bryan Street Tavern‘s Monday night pizza special. As you probably know, these pizzas are really quite good. You can get a half-price pie all day, and $4 you-call-its after 7 p.m.
