T. Boone Pickens must be feeling his oats these days, after being named CEO of the Year in the new D CEO magazine. Over the weekend, Alan Peppard reports, the Dallas energy mogul and Toni Brinker up and announced their engagement to be married.

Brinker’s the widow of restaurateur Norman Brinker, the Dallas founder of Steak & Ale. The wedding, the pair say, should be sometime early next year. For some reason, I don’t think they’re registered at Bed Bath & Beyond.

  1. With their combined incomes they should be able to buy a nice house and maybe even a new car.

  2. From what I saw she was great to and for Norman. I see no reason why she might not be perfect for Boone at this point.

  3. You nailed it about her. She got dumped by the former president of Compass Computers for a trophy bride and has been climbing the ladder for revenge. Money and status is her mantra.
