Time to commit pumpkin massacre.
The Libertine hosts its annual carving contest, which is pretty much a no-brainer if A) you already like that bar and B) you’re handy with a knife. Your $10 entry fee gets you a beer and a pumpkin. The first place winner is a $100 tab. Second and third place winners receive a $50 and $25 tab, respectively. All you have to do is sign up at the bar before 7 p.m. to participate.
Meanwhile, the storytelling series Oral Fixation starts its third season. The evening’s theme is “Bun in the Oven,” so the tales will jump off from there. There will be mention of babies, yes, but one of the speakers happens to be Jay Jerrier, the man who birthed Cane Rosso and Zoli’s. You can hear the origin story of his pizza business straight from the horse’s mouth.
