Castle returns tonight, so while I might be counting the minutes until it hits HuluPlus, you can do other things.
In Plano, Holy Grail Pub begins its Oktoberfest celebrations, which includes five days of beer tappings, pint glass giveaways, and schnitzel. Tonight’s offering is the Saint Arnold Brewing Company Oktoberfest, and you get to keep the glass. Stick around for dinner—the food is quite good.
This evening also features a special incarnation of the Dallas Museum of Art’s Texas Bound storytelling program. It’s in Fort Worth, but in exchange for your willingness to drive you get Tony-winning actress Judith Ivey. It’s fair. Ivey and other famous local faces will read short stories with Texas roots.
Finally, Alamo Drafthouse in Richardson offers a screening of the original Teen Wolf in 35 mm. As you might know, Michael J. Fox plays an ordinary teenager who learns that he’s a werewolf, and that the affliction is genetic. As such, the actor who plays his father, James Hampton, will be in attendance for a Q&A before the film. Hampton will sign autographs after.
