Somehow, we made it to Thursday.
I am not much of a jewelry person, but I adore f. is for frank’s pewter collections. Tonight the designers launch a new series inspired by succulents, which were once wonderful for adorning your tables and windowsills and now will look great on your arm. Stop by the studio in the Design District for cocktails and peruse the collection, which will be 20% off. There’s also plenty of sale items. I recommend dropping by Pakpao Thai for dinner.
There are also a couple of concerts happening that are worth your time. The annoyingly stylized band fun. plays at Gexa Energy Pavilion tonight. I am tired of them. But I am not tired of Tegan and Sara, the hardworking female indie-folk rock duo that has been around since 1998. I’ve managed to love them just about as long. Their music gets me. I especially like “You Wouldn’t Like Me,” “So Jealous,” and “I Was A Fool.” This show is worth it just to hear them, since the group hasn’t had a real radio hit basically ever, and the new song “Closer” is starting to get some play.
Lucinda Williams plays Annette Strauss Square outside the Winspear Opera House tonight, and you can BYOB. Did you know Craft and Growler sells these awesome bags of beer that come out to the equivalent of a six pack? So great. So portable. Maybe all you concertgoers receive “Passionate Kisses.”
