First West Nile Death in Dallas County Reported. A man in Oak Cliff is the first reported death of West Nile in Dallas County. In August, he was diagnosed as having neuroinvasive West Nile. He was over 60 years old.
Rape Suspect Arrested. After a four-day manhunt, Van Dralan Dixson was arrested at a motel in Baton Rouge yesterday. There are four warrants for his arrest for aggravated sexual assault in South Dallas, the first of which was reported in June.

One such night is called “anything but clothes.” The waitresses wear nothing but body paint and pasties. This hasn’t gone over well with the city council. Family Sues over Six Flags Theme Ride Death. On July 19, Rosa Esparza died after falling from her seat on the Texas Giant, which has been closed since. Esparza’s family is planning to sue the park, asking for at least $1 million in damages. But after finding nothing glaringly wrong with its ride, the park is planning to open the the Texas Giant this weekend.
