Things To Do In Dallas Tonight: Sept. 9

Hey, hope you all had a nice weekend. Mine was fine, thanks for asking. Saw a homeless guy taking selfies outside the DMA with the promotional posters, so I feel like we can file that under further proof that you don’t have to be rich to like the look of ancient works of art.

Tonight, you should make your way over to South Side on Lamar, where Liz Mikel eschews her usual Monday evening solo show for a duet with Crystal Ramon, a singer who has performed with the Jackson Symphony in Tennessee. The two vocalists will run through their favorites in the genres of jazz and blues. The Cedars Social is always a solid bet for cocktails and bar snacks.

Also this evening, Shakespeare Dallas and the AT&T Performing Arts Center offer a staged reading of The Comedy of Errors, the first of the new artistic season and a continuation of the ambitious project to present the Bard’s complete works over the next five years, at the Winspear Opera House’s Hamon Hall. Basic plot: Two sets of twins separated at birth collide in a busy metropolis. Plus swords.
