Texas Tech Student Gets Life Sentence For Plot to Bomb George W. Bush’s Preston Hollow Home

Khalid Ali-M Aldawsari was sentenced to life in prison today in Amarillo, for the attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction, the Associated Press reports.

Prosecutors say Aldawsari had collected bomb-making materials and researched possible targets, including former President George W. Bush’s Preston Hollow home. He was convicted of the crime in June.

Best line:

Investigators say Aldawsari’s goal was to carry out jihad, though his attorneys claimed he was a harmless failure who never came close to attacking anyone.

When your own attorneys are sonning you, it’s probably time to find a new calling.

I suppose Khalid’s attorney would then have argued that his client was a “harmful success” if he’d carried out his bombing mission? “Your Honor, since the guy who was shooting at me failed miserably to actually hit me. I move to let him go free!”. Don’t worry Khalid, you’ll have plenty of alone, one on one time, with your Allah while lazing about in your cell during your prison stay. Enjoy:)

It’s no fun without a mugshot so I know who to hate. It’s like when somebody cuts you off in traffic: Who do you hate exactly? You must negotiate your vehicle abreast theirs, however dangerous an enterprise this may be, so as to steal a glimpse of the face you so hate. I guess I could follow the link, but that’s too much trouble — that’s more like following somebody to the grocery store to steal a glimpse of their loathesome mug; why bother, when someone else will be along shortly for you to despise. Which I’m not saying that harmfully succeeding in cutting me off in traffic is tantamount to harmlessly failing to blow up a former president, because it really isn’t. But just because I’m not a former president doesn’t mean I don’t need somebody to hate, too.

It should be noted that Khalid was not a Tech student at the time of his arrest, he had transferred to South Plains College prior to making bombs in his apartment.
