For me the high point was singing the milestone electric jingle
@ 10:34 am on January 30, 2012
Not even remotely funny. Poor execution.

@Ted Fulmer: I stand corrected. You’re right. That was the best moment.

Whatever brave soul attempts to improve upon this effort:
Please include a rendition of the classic “748-1414, 748-1414, Call the Dallas Times Herald Classifieds.”

Their accents are very un-Dallas

The first meal I ate in Texas, was in Longview back in ’83.
Me: “…and a large coke.”
Waitress: “What kind?”
Me: “What kind of what?”
Waitress: “What kind of coke do you want?”
Me: Completely confused, “What kind of coke do you have?
Waitress: “Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Dr Pepper, 7up & root beer.”
@ 11:22 am on January 30, 2012
Regarding the Coke thing: I have lived in Dallas my entire life and I have NEVER heard anyone say that. I have only heard OF people saying that.
@ 11:28 am on January 30, 2012
OMG had to give up too loooong. Plus, I wanted to kill her.

See, the problem is that you’re supposed to say funny things in these videos. Not just “things”.

@Jason Held Yes, that jingle for the DTH Classifieds is burned in my brain.
The dude on the couch is not funny. The girl had a few good lines but not enough.

Brandon – You must have zero sense of humor and you probably live in a Dallas suburb.
Fred knows what’s happening. Most of my relatives live in Tyler and i guarantee most East Texas Folks refer to all soft drinks as Coke.
This is one of the funniest videos i’ve seen in a long time!
@ 1:27 pm on January 30, 2012
Gosh damn it, that was piss poor. Come on can we do better than that???
@ 1:37 pm on January 30, 2012
Matt,
Can you? Do you have a mouse in your pocket?
@ 1:53 pm on January 30, 2012
@George Curious: Ditto for the Texas Panhandle, where I learned that “Coke” can mean an orange soda.
@ 1:59 pm on January 30, 2012
@George Curious…your friends didn’t do a bad job….it just wasn’t good. also, the chicks voice is grating to the ears.
@ 2:40 pm on January 30, 2012
I don’t think they are Dallas natives. They did miss quite a few things and didn’t even mention any local schools, just “DISD sucks”. I don’t think a native would have said that unless it was in a way mocking the “972s” (that part they got right).
@ 4:31 pm on January 30, 2012
I laughed exactly zero times. The Coke line was good, and it would have been good if the girl would have only named off dozens of restaurants when referring to the best margaritas (forget brunch, burgers etc). I could go on, but I already wrote too much in my comment about the DMV.
Leave it to someone from Dallas to make the worst “Sh*T People Say” video….haha
Also the longest, and Fattest one hahaha….
p.s.
Dallas is lame move if you can

FrontBurner® launched in March 2003, the first blog in Dallas run by a media organization. This is where the editors of D Magazine come to waste a tremendous amount of time.
