Not many up-and-coming singers would walk away from a chance to star in Glee, one of the most popular television shows on the planet. But that’s what Colleyville musician Cameron Mitchell did in episode seven of The Glee Project, which aired last night on the Oxygen network.
Mitchell’s father is one of the pastors of the church I attend, so I’ve gotten sucked into the reality series, which follows 12 contestants vying for a seven-episode arc in season three of Glee.
Cameron seemed to be a favorite of show judges Robert Ulrich (Glee’s casting director), Zach Woodlee (choreographer), and show creator Ryan Murphy. But the self-confessed virgin who’s in a committed relationship had been struggling with scenes that required him to get up-close-and-personal with other contestants; the theme of last night’s episode—sexuality—sent him over the edge.
After beautifully performing Paul McCartney’s “Blackbird,” Cameron was asked about his conflicts and admitted to the judges, “I’ve had a really difficult week with sexuality, I can’t lie. That’s something I’ve never been through before. But I know the beliefs that I have and it’s definitely been a real challenge … Maybe this isn’t for me.”
That seemed to pique Murphy’s interest even more: “One of the things I think that we have not done well, thus far, is represent a sort of conservative, religious, faith-based character, and you are that guy,” Murphy said.
Murphy conferred with the other judges, wondering how Mitchell could walk away from a TV show, concert tour, and recording deal, then had a private conversation with the singer, offering to respect his personal barriers. Mitchell said he had spent sleepless nights thinking about it, and was ready to go.
“I’m sad,” Murphy said. “I feel like I could have written you a role and I do think you could have gone all the way to the finals. I think you could have touched so many people.”
Mitchell, who’s apparently in California today with other Glee Project cast members, did not immediately respond to calls seeking comment. He posted a video on the topic with former castmate Damian McGinty—who was selected by the judges to be booted off the show in last night’s episode, but saved by Mitchell’s decision.
UPDATE: D intern Kelsy McCraw talked with Mitchell this afternoon. (Be watching for her story at FrontRow.) Here’s what he had to say about his decision to leave The Glee Project:
“It’s very tough because I do have beliefs and I do have my faith, and in some ways that does make me very different from other people. There are lines that other people will cross, and that’s OK to them, but to me—I’m just different, I just believe in different things. There are certain things that I’m willing to do on video shoots, but when it comes to the kissing, that was really hard for me. That’s just how I was raised, you know?
“My parents weren’t crazy-strict religious people. I won’t hit people on the head with a Bible, but I live by example and just try to be the best guy I can be. I have morals, and if it’s something that I feel like is crossing the line, then I’m not afraid to stand up. If you don’t stand up for something, then you’ll never stand up for anything. I just feel like that’s just what I had to do.”

I admire him for taking a stand (graciously and respectfully). It’s not easy being a Christian and standing out for being “different”. Now Cameron can walk away knowing he didn’t compromise himself. It’s just a TV show. Your values are far more worth it than fame, which is fleeting. I believe God will bless this guy.
I can’t view the video here at work so I might be asking a question that the video answers.
Had this young man never seen the show that he was auditioning for? have there been any episodes of Glee that didn’t deal with sexuality in some form or another.
It takes a strong, mature person to decide when something is not right for him, especially if that something might involve a lot of money and fame. You may not agree with his decision, but I admire the way he stuck to his Christian principles. He felt that he would not be able to fully commit to Glee if what they asked of him made him uncomfortable. Some people complain he took away a spot from another contestant. No, he did not, because often you do not know what something is really like until you get involved. For example, starting a new job, you don’t know what it really entails until you actually perform the job; that’s why people end up quitting a job after discovering it is not a good fit. Also, Cameron, along with a lot of the others who tried, probably were not told or did not realize what would be expected of them if they won the role.
I also noticed at the end of the “Sexuality” segment, Ryan Murphy seemed very ready to let Cameron go. It was only after Cameron announced he wanted to quit that Murphy suddenly had a change of heart. He wanted to be the one to reject Cameron, not the other way around. If you’ve seen how badly Mr. Murphy has reacted to bands refusing to let him use their music on Glee (Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, etc.), it’s apparent he is not used to rejection or to the fact that a lot of people do not like Glee, or in Cameron’s case, that Glee is not right for them.
I thought Cameron and Mitchell were on “Modern Family”.
Ryan, Chord and Cameron walked away from you.
These guys won’t be kissing your ass to get a job
im really glad this guy did what he did, i dont watch glee, im against it actually but a friend of mine told me what cameron did because of his beliefs and his love to God and i really felt such an admiration for him, because he placed God over every other thing this world could have gave him, in this case fame and fortune. God would blessed him in more beautiful ways glee coulda have had “falsely” would have given to him.
We are so proud of you Cameron. keep being an example.
I cried, I cried when cameron left because I felt his pain but I also felt his strength, trut me this is not the end for him, he wil have record producers calling. he is an amazing talent and I wish him all the luck in the world
it is rarely that i see a young man who stand by his beliefs and is proud of it. i wish i could see more of him soon. he is such a good example for the youth.
Did someone FORCE him to go on this show?
Seems he would have set a better example for refusing to go on it in the first place. Sort of holier than thou after the fact. I refuse to go on The 700 Club and discuss the pleasures of gay sex.
Does anyone remember the movie “The Age of Innocence”? Now, does anyone remember the extremely sexual/sensual scene when Daniel Day-Lewis unbuttons Michelle Pfeiffer’s glove? Sexuality/sensuality does not have to mean a bed scene, ripping one’s clothes off or kissing every Joe Schmoe on the mouth(right, Lindsay?) And I do not agree with Ms. Anders’ comments about leaving yourself at the door and just get into your character. Even if you are “pretending”, you are pretending with your mouth, your mind, your body. How many actors/actresses use body doubles when they are not “comfortable” with a “required” scene in a movie? Nothing seems clear cut in the world of acting — the only person you can rely on is yourself. Good for you, Cameron!
He is not a bad man. But I think he did it on purpose to have an opportunity, an outlet for his singing career. I don’t think he ever really considered that a show like Glee –or any of today’s popular T.V. shows by the way- could be a place where you could hide behind a very strict interpretation of the Christian faith to not perform. That’s utterly unrealistic. Unless he has some understanding problem we don’t know about.
So he must’ve thought that as long as they let him be the singing canary without really personally interacting, he would have a bigger shot to be known.
It’s not a merit. Because he knowingly took the place many people who was willing to sing AND act for his own sided purposes, for his own personal agenda that had nothing to do with Glee, really. Acting was on the table all the way, so it’s not like… surprise surprise, here it comes the kiss with the pretty girl…
But it is very convenient to make it look like he had to choose between his adherence to his tenets and the show; many Christians adore the sense of placing themselves as victims even if no one is forcing them to do anything. He will do well with those who have those notions sanctified and he will do well singing for them.
But he is not a victim, not an example, neither a religious hero.
Thank you for treating my son’s story with dignity and understanding. For those of you who support Cameron, thank you. If you don’t, thank you for your interest. Cameron has taught me so much about standing up for something that you believe in. My wife and I are just lucky to have been his parents.
i was very proud of cameron for following his heart . i know god can use him for his purpose. i was so moved by this experience and being showed on a show like glee. thanks cameron for being true, real and honest.amen
As someone who believes in Jesus, I often sway back and forth with my faith. After Cameron stood up for the Cross, I ran and took my rusted Tiffany & Co. cross and took it to get cleaned. I haven’t worn it around my neck for over a year. It woke me up from my rut that I’ve been in. I have forgotten that I need the Lord in my life everyday. Like Cameron, what are you if you don’t stand for something! Cameron would be great on Glee. I love the show but they poke too much fun at people how love Jesus…you can’t poke fun of Cameron because he is the “real deal”…he is special!
I’ve never really met him, but people I went to FC knew him, and I’ve met his dad (Preston). I believe everything happens for a reason, and his going on Glee and then standing up for his beliefs happened the way it did for a reason.
God has plans for him, and only He knows what’s in store for Cameron next!
I mean, it takes a lot more to do what he did than most people think…
…And of course, I’m most likely NOT making any/a lot of sense at all here.
Okay, I don’t understand why he quit… I hate to be on of the jerks but it was appalling… I don’t think what he did showed courage at all… GLEE is an amazing show and shows that even as misfits you as a person can make it through everything. What he did was just crazy… ITS CALL THE GLEE PROJECT… As a person he had to of known acting was involved. You cannot let your religion or girlfriend get involved with acting; acting is acting… God loves all his children; and makes some more talented and other. He was my favorite on the show but after he just walked away He shouldn’t have even been on the show… It looks like just publicity. He just threw way the chance to do something that MILLIONS would kill for… And to me as a person who is trying to be an artist quitting doesn’t make someone inspirational… that makes them look like a quitter. I give him props for sticking up for what he “believes” in but quitting can be okay for you… but it’s not something country girls do; IN IT TO WIN IT!
I’m also very sad because I will miss him but on the other hand i am very pleased of his decision……maybe glee is really not for him (he’s overqualified!)God Bless Cameron
I respect someone standing up for his or her beliefs but nobody has addressed the idea that lets say his beliefs are correct… Well maybe God gave him this opportunity. Maybe the lord’s mission was for him to be that good Christian character on Glee and reach people. God opened the door and Cameron sadly closed it.
I admire him so much, he touched me for real it takes a lot of courage to do something like he did, I think it also gave Ryan Murphy a reality check and Cameron just showed the world how God is before anything such a great testimony for all of us.
I congratulate his parents for the wonderful son they have.
To Preston Mitchell and Mrs. Mitchell. I posted a comment on your son’s YouTube Channel congratulating you both as parents. You raised a fine young man who believes in staying true to himself. He has backbone and character, he is his own man. Good job to you and a fine example to others.
I am proud of what cameron did most people would not give up being on GLEE because they have to kiss someone but Cameron stayed true with him self and quit the chance of a life time. I am not a very religious person but what he did makes me want to be so congrats on standing up and saying what most people would not.
Actually, I just remembered – I did meet him! I met him at that team thing? …Home teams? Campus teams? Can’t remember.
Cameron had an opportunity to let the writers create a character with moral fiber and Christian values for the show. I think he simply self sabataged out of fear. He wasn’t thinking of the greater good, he just thought of himself. Is that what Jesus would have done? Really? Just quit when things got a little uncomfortable? Or would he have used the most popular forum he could have to get his message out to the people? I do hope he gets over his fear of success and does put out good music, because he has an incredible voice and personality. Too bad we won’t be seeing or hearing it on Glee.
I feel that if they really want cameron on the show later on they will contact him cause it seems like Ryan really wanted him to stay…However I am glad he stuck to what he believed I mean look at Kirk Cameron in the movie Fireproof in the ending scene he felt that by kissing the actress portraying his wife he was cheating on his actual wife so they put a wig on his wife and that is who he is kissing in the final scene.
I also don’t view him as quitting on what he loves to do which is singing and perhaps acting now but if you feel something isn’t right for you then chances are its not. Like he said just because one door closes doesn’t mean that one won’t open up again for him. And yes I see where people think acting is acting but if you truly believe in something as he did then he did what was best for him and that is what you need to do he felt he needed to change for the show and it botherd him. Same way as acting is acting TV shows are TV shows they come and go all the time ( which i love glee so hope it stays) but your morals and what you believe in should be a constant.
In response to Lxxvs. You are correct that Cameron is no victim, example or hero of a religion. He is a champion of the one in which he believes. He put his faith in someone who has conquered all those things including death. Jesus.
Well, I do agree in the fact that Cameron knew that Glee involved acting, and he was expected to do things he wasn’t comfortable with. But I also believe that when he decided to leave, he really stood up for what his character would have been or done on the show. I’m pretty sure a “Cameron” on Glee, wouldn’t have been obliged to do something he didn’t believe in, there’s no other way he could’ve represented his character better.
I’m very proud of what he did, and I’ve been following his music even before he entered on Glee Project, I’m 100% confident he’ll really make it, he is naturally talented.
I was very surprised but then very impressed by Cameron’s fortitude in doing what he felt was right. I find it odd that other Christians are criticizing Cameron’s choice as if they know what God wants for him or as if they know the mysterious workings of the Holy Spirit in a person’s heart. God’s plan isn’t necessarily rational to you or I because His infinite wisdom is suprarational i.e. transcends our limited rational thought. Its not easy to turn down a popular and enticing offer from a powerful figure and I’m so impressed that Cameron did just that. It was fascinating how Ryan Murphy was clearly impressed with Cameron’s convictions and claimed that it inspired him to respect Cameron’s boundaries for a Christian role in a show like Glee. I think it would be really tricky to carry out and I don’t blame Cameron for being uneasy with what the show could demand of him or put him through based on the last 2 weeks. Someone made a great point about how Mr. Murphy hadn’t wanted a real Christian up to that point. ALOT of young people are watching the Glee Project and this may be the first time that they meet a conservative Christian like Cameron who is so appealing, says he will wait for sex till marriage, and takes kissing (even stage kissing) so seriously at age 21. His conservative morals have given these young people something to consider and in that his presence on the show has been a very good thing. I’m sure his girlfriend must feel honored too. I wish him all the best with his musical career and other endeavors. I get the feeling he’s opened another door all right.
Wow. I haven’t had this much respect for someone in a long time. I really admire this kid, I wish him the best.
I love this guy! he’s amazing ! i cried on that episode so hard! he’s amazing and he’ll do just great in the music industry because he has a very unique voice ! i never seen a braver man than him ! i auditioned for the Glee project and if i won i do not know if i would be as brave as him if i got challeged with that, he inspired me so much can you please pass him my message (since u go to his dad’s church)—much love
God bless Cameron.continued be a good example and represents who you are shows that you are different and mainly shows that God is the first in your life.:D
I wonder how the kids that went home before him feel.
I really wonder why Cameron didn’t see this great opportunity to actually make a stand in front of the camera on “Glee”, in front of all the viewers…! Ryan Murphy was willing to create a Christian character for him, respecting Cameron’s boundaries! What an opportunity to show the people! Oh well…
He really is a man of integrity. Not only he displayed his convictions throughout the competition, he also chose God over fame which is something people sell their soul out for. I salute you brother in Christ!
I think that Cameron did what he had to do, he is an amazing singer and as well a wonderful person and this isn’t the end of him. I think he knew this, and i think that he had made his decision before going to the judges and that’s why he wasn’t tempted to accept murphys proposal to stay, because his it would have totally made him look like a phony to the viewers. I’m not a religious person and i have so much respect for this kid, to have the guts to stand up for what you believe in this confidently and believe in morals this strongly… c’mon this kid doesn’t need this show. This kid is too good for Glee.
I would buy camerons cd in a heartbeat… he sings great and I like his music… but I doubt it was a selfless act… Anyone who has ever seen glee knows that it deals with sexuality by the minute… which is great… a lot of kids today are confused about sexuality… even with sex ed clases and what nots…. I think Cameron overreacted… but hey whatever … it was his call and I would still buy his cd… even if I think he’s a total phony…
Jeremy… buzz off…. man of God? Not even priests are men of God… Why was he auditioning for Glee Project and not going to Africa or some other third world country doing some trully selfless act of God?
Whatever to all of you christian clowns…. I was molested as a child by a supossedly christian man who supossedly never had sex.. This a person who went to church and read the bible and did not believe in premarital sex… yeah because he like little kids… all of you fakes belong in a crazy house!
Cameron is a good man. He’s exactly a role model for the youngster.
He should have realized this before taking a spot in a competition from someone who would have cherished it.
ALSO, it seems to me like someone who had enough confidence in the value of their beliefs would have persevered in making a difference for like-minded people who don’t have anyone to relate to in modern television. It’s one thing to be shy, but c’mon, get over yourself!
Dude, what you did was just amazing. You DO set the example. Thank you.
I can’t believe how many of the comments have shown how many people will sell them selves just to be on glee. Cameron thank you for standing up for your beliefs and that is more then I can say for Ryan as I don’t think he has any beliefs except himself as this is not the first time Cameron has been called out for his belifs but the second. CAMERON thank you for standing up for what you believe and I am looking forward to yor CD. Don’t worry I will NOT be watching glee this year.
Once again… Cameron did sell himself out… otherwise… he would never have been on glee project to begin with…
Some times you dont know in what you get yourself before you re actually in. I think he s the only person who should decide what to do with his life and if he figures out THATS not what he wanted he has to keep on searching for what he really wants. Thanks god he realized that BEFORE going further.Happened in Americas next Topmodel (contestant retired cause she didn t imagine the stress comming with the business) and happened on the search for the addicional Pussicatdoll-member 8and THAT was hard, cause the WINNER didn t wanted to go through it and the group decided to go ahead with their old members) Good for him to take the personal desicion and make space for those who really REALLY want it! I liked him very much!
Cameron, you are so naturally gifted and I have loved watching you stand up for your beliefs in a world where so often the lines are blurred and crossed. I have even enjoyed sharing with my husband about ‘this young Christian guy’ who is letting the world know about his beliefs and publicly declaring he is a Christian so boldly! You ate a wonderful inspiration and example for the youth of today. Be blessed in your future!
While Glee is not a show I have ever enjoyed or watched because of the sexual innuendo at first and now the blatant direction it’s taken, I applaud Cameron for pursuing this.
You never know whether something is truly for you until you give it a shot. And if you can’t ever quit something when you find out it goes against your values, then you’ll never authentically commit to anything.
Cameron is not a quitter. He is not a fake. He is the real deal. I know his mother well. I know his father. I know his sisters. I know him.
Obeying God is far more important than seeking a person’s approval. I wish more young men had the same core value of standing for something in the face of no agreement.
And I hope Rob gets the help he needs. There are plenty of people that say they are one thing and turn out to be another. I know sometimes it hurts more when the person SAYS they are Christian because we expect more. It’s never what a person says that shows who they really are, but what they do. Rob, I’m sorry for what happened to you…
I love his voice and I think he’s an amazing guy.
I’m not a Christian, but I adored Cameron and really wanted him on the show. It’s really not about Christianity at all, but about respect and morality, and this guy has so much of it. I was so sad to see him go. He would be an amazing role model for other young people. From the very first episode, he was my winner and he always will be. I will never cry as much for a reality TV show as when he told Ryan he was sure about leaving. He had the most beautiful rendition of ‘Keep Holding On’ of all the contestants so far. Gosh, I’ll miss him…
No glee project for me from now on, because cameron is not there anymore.
Cameron, you are so amazing! What you did not very many people have to guts to do! You inspire me. You are my ro-model. I hope you find a way to glee because you belong on there. You already touch so many people! I know some people think what you did was wrong, but sometimes people don’t know what they sign up for! My dream now is to meet you in person but I know it will never happen lol. Stay who you are because who you are is great!:)
Sincerly,
Karley B:)
I’m proud of you, Cameron. I can’t have children, but if I could have, I would have wanted to have a kid like you. Now please write your new CD songs, will be waiting.
It takes a lot for someone to walk away from an opportunity like the one Cameron had and that kid definitely has a lot in him. Not many people would have had the courage and conviction to do what he did. He stayed true to himself and isn’t that what Glee is really about?
Well, im also a Christian my unwavering faith in God is above everything else so standing up for what u believe in is an admirable thing but come on… he should’ve known from watching glee that things like that is unavoidable… if he didn’t want that he shouldn’t have joined in the first place and it could’ve given someone else the chance so i really think he did it on purpose…
I liked Cameron in this show, way more than most of the kids that stay until the finals, Alex included (Taking into acount that Im gay and I either dont like or dont care about christians). I was sad to watch him go, but I get why he did it. I always respect someone that defends and acts according to it´s believes, no mather how irrational they can be (as long as it doesnt affect other people´s rights of course). That´s what I try to do when I fight for lgtb rights in my country (Peru). It certainly took a lot of integrity (I think that word it´s more apropiate than courage, wich doesn´t mean both concepts aren´t somehow conected) to walk away from such a big oportunity, and I respect that even in someone whose way of understading the world it´s almost opposite to mine. Good luck Cameron, see u in the battlefield.
Check out this video I found with fascinating extra footage not shown on the aired episode about Cameron’s resignation. Listen carefully as it may address some of the comments. I personally truly respect Cameron’s heartfelt prayerful decision and yet am also hoping he will have another opportunity to play a Christian character on Glee with respect of course for his boundaries. This proposed next time it could be in God’s plan. If Cameron’s pal Damian ends up winning it really is a fascinating turn of events. Damian has certainly become quite the contender and fan favorite since. God’s ways are mysterious indeed. Either way: watch out world for Cameron Mitchell!

Cameron seems like a wonderful, sweet kid…but human sexuality is healthy, fun and normal. It’s a shame that religion creates such discomfort and guilt in people.
Cameron strikes me as neither the career opportunist some folks think he is, nor is he someone who admirably upholds his belief system. My question is what belief is he upholding? If he were worried about a stage kiss as a betrayal of his girlfriend, why didn’t he call her to break down–he didn’t betray his mother. If he felt like the portrayal of sexuality was immoral, why did he follow through with the food/sex play in the kitchen. That behavior seems much more a breach of love and appropriate relationship and focused more on lust; but he didn’t seem to have a problem with that. If it were really a moral problem, that would be what was refused. I think it was a way to cover his vulnerability and embarrassment. I get, and I think most people get, that that is a hard thing to ask of a young actor with his beliefs and background. But inventing a faith based objection as a cover for that vulnerability is not moral or admirable.
Cameron… You are a man with integrity. Two thumbs up for you and family. Always keep the spirit. JBU.
i’m really proud of him..

as a daughter of a pastor,, i can understand him. that’s not easy to let ur dream go. but, i believe that LORD JESUS have a great plans for him.. that’s great to be different no matter people say, we are christians, and we are different. thanks for inspiring me,, thank you so much,,
God bless u wherever u go..
What a painful thing to watch, another good talented person lost by the disgrace of religion slavery. Let’s hope this anachronic superstition ends in the near future.
Maybe he just didn’t want to kiss a GIRL!! Glee is very pro-gay, he had to know that.
Cameron you rock! i think that you are very brave to stand up against the world for your beliefs. As a christian myself, you are truly the light and salt to the world. Stay strong, God will lead you to your destiny and His great plans for you
Thank you for setting an example for Christians around the world that you can obey God and be COOL too!
WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM? firstly you know glee is alot of acting as well as singing so he knew that when he auditioned, secondly acting normally requires acting a relationship or kissing someone. I was in a film and had to kiss a boy, it was awkward and uncomfortable but you just get on with it lol, that so naive of him to think that he wouldnt have to do that. and i would and im sure all the other finalists who were chucked out befoe him and everyone who applied for the competition would KILL to be in Glee and he thew that oppurtunity away! I do appreciate his values and openess about his christianity and i respect and admire that about him and how hes so open about it, heck i’d love to be with a guy like him! But to not even kiss someone, come on, its not sex lol. anyway he is still HOT as , so i love him haha
God bless Cameron! May he open the gates of heaven for him and flood him with prosperity for taking his stand in being a witness in Christ Jesus! And may God bless his parents who reared him with utmost virtues! The rewards he will reap is great! You blessed a lot of people, Cameron. I am overjoyed to see Christians rise up in this morally upturned world.
I’ve just recently began to watch the glee project. When I found Cameron in Pairability episode, seeing how he stood firmly on his belief, I was entirely stunned and amazed. Man, I can’t believe that there is still a guy like him in the most sophisticated country like US. Not only blessed with a cute face and great voice, he’s given a committed heart to God. I think people who have not experienced Christianity well would not fully understand why he quit. But he really knew what he did and what God wanted him to do. Being special like him, I think there are still so much troubles ahead as the tests of his faith. Lean on God, Cameron
I’m really happy for Cameron, for not putting his foot into the world of satan he has lied as a trap. I am glad he has seemed God first, although he may have gone too far into the show, I’m glad that he left halfway. These kinds of people should be admired and respected with their tremendous amount of faith, even representing Christ through the television.
God bless
So happy to see there are still young men like you Cameron! My cousin seems to have found an amazing man!!
I love u but why leave. in u r the only exception Hannah would have still been in the bottom 3 but even if u got into the bottom 3 u would have still be thru cuz Ryan would see that Hannah is not the greatest singer. I hope u don’t regret this.. U will go big. Just keep writing songs and on iTunes people will buy ur music I did.. Good luck
I really respect Cam’s decision.I’m a Moslem and for the very first time I’m impressed by other religion especially in a free country like America where moral values (often) not really the first aspect to decide some actions..Salute for Cameron’s (and whatever the reason he quits the Glee Project) but it is what it is
I hope everybody can respect his decision without being asked by sarcastic comments..and by the way,I’m a Gleek!
wow, I so proud of cameron. I’m a Christian from Malaysia and he really give me the confident to stand for my belief. It is hard to see people like him and no offend.. but sometimes I get confused when I see America which majority are Christian but doesn’t potray their faith and their walk with Him. Finally, i see light in cameron. Hope to see more people like him. God bless everyone. =)
okay, i’m not Glee fans, but I keep watching my TV cable along my holidays and I found Cameron on a show called The Glee Project.
at first, I was attracted by his look. He was sooooo cute (I love to see a cute boy wearing sunglasses ^^) and I keep watching until we found out on Pairability episode, he was a honestly innocent boy.
I’m a moslem, but I totally respect him and his belief. I Salute everyone who put his God on top of everything. something that cannot replaced even by money or fame. moreover, he’s a young boy in a free country like America. so impressive..
i think it’s not about what’s his religion is, but it’s all about protecting his belief and always be honest.
please don’t change, cameron. we adore your tough-but-innocent heart
I am an atheist but i admire cameron for standing by what he believes in. Good on you.
i respect cameron’s decision to back off from this show. yes he surely already knew that this show involves sexuality and stuff in the first place. but he only realize how he cant betray his beliefs when he’s in the situation he had to do those thngs. u cant blame him for realizing wht to do a lil bit late. even if he didnt participate in this show, the others who was eliminated earlier will still be eliminated rite. cameron, u go boy !
Cameron shouldn’t have joined the Glee Project. There are many others who are dying for the opportunity to be on the show. He just wasted a spot.
Cameron, you’ve totally inspired me. Good on you!
I’m a moslem, but I fully understand his attitude and his decision to quit (however I’ll miss him).
really like him! i don’t agree with his decision LORD gave you that talent…
I’m a Hindu by birth and inspite of that, am not religious at all. Therefore I do not relate to Cameron’s religious beliefs. But what I do take from this is that in fact, this is not a question of religious belief at all. It is about your personal belief, not necessarily associated with religion. He decided to stand up for his moral conviction, and that is the moral of the story- stand up for whatever you believe in, and only then can you be true to yourself. So, if you are ever caught up in a conflict such as he was, remember to stick to your instincts and conviction- Remember Cameron. I have no doubt that he will do brilliantly in life. This to me is tenacity- this to me is the vigour of life. Best of luck, Cameron, I just hope that we see so much more of you. Where Ryan murphy says that he wishes Cameron would stay on because he could touch so many lives, I think the wonderful part is that he already has.
This is really truly sad. Glee is about acceptance of one’s self and of others, isn’t that kind of a Jesus message.
Cameron did what’s right for him and that’s fine. He wasn’t ready, maybe one day he will be.
But don’t make the show just about the sex, and don’t make Christianity just about non-sex. I believe both are more complex and I believe both preach for love.
I was sad when he said he would not, even with the offer of Ryan. But then I got thinking about the great courage that Cameron had to say no to fame and money, which is what this world more greed. For some it is just religious fanaticism, but for those who understand what it is to love God above all things in life, you see that his attitude was pure love for God, for he who loves sacrifice everything for their faith and has . God has great plans for him and I think one of them is to inspire this generation of youth that is so steeped in sin.
I am Brazilian and also sing to the Lord and I can not say that there is nothing better than to be adored!
Cameron a kiss to his family and all blessed
Cameron can be a star for all eternity.
Why should he choose to be a star for just a season?
Right?
I love Cameron and totally support him but since the marathon is going on right now, I saw earlier in an episode he said he couldnt dance but he had good moves in the bedroom…kinda confused?
