Rainy Day Fund May Get Used. House Budget Chief Jim Pitts said he’s hopeful that the Lege will vote to use at least part of the state’s rainy day fund to close there rest of the budget shortfall. Considering one of the other options is just to delay paying bills, maybe this is actually a rainy day?
Spring is Here, So Go Out and Freaking Enjoy It. People have seemed a little cranky this week. I attribute this to a severe lack of patio-dwelling. So this weekend, find one. Pastor Young confirms that this whole Book of Revelation/Apocalypse thing is a modern talking point among the religious Right. In November ‘07, presidential candidate and ordained Baptist minister Mike Huckabee preached a sermon at Prestonwood Baptist and said the same thing: “If you’re with Jesus Christ, we know how it turns out in the final moment. I’ve read the last chapter in the book, and we do end up winning.”
Yes, only they will win, and everyone else (Jew, Muslim, atheist, agnostic, etc.) will lose.
