Happy nearly noontime to you. The first thing I’d like you to do today is bookmark three blogs:

• Park Cities People: The photo on the Highland Park High School mom post and Dan Koller’s stirring piece on nature should brighten your day.
• Preston Hollow People: Want more high school drama? They’ve got it.
• Oak Cliff People: As David Conard recently pointed out, the Bishop Arts Theater Center has announced its 2011 jazz season schedule. Read his post on the matter for details, including dates, acts, and ticket prices.

It’s probably not coincidence that Chris Verene’s Family exhibit as Photographs Do Not Bend Gallery has opened right around Thanksgiving. You could escape your actual family and go see it sometime this weekend, but why not check it out today? Grab a quick bite at Maple & Motor beforehand and call it a long lunch (not a foreign concept to some of you, I’m sure).

The Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin concert is tonight at House of Blues. You should go—if not for the music (though it happens to be quite good), then for the awesome band name, which some people abbreviate SSLYBY. I’m still working on a pronunciation. Suggestions welcome.
