Sarah Palin Avoids Misleading Scare Tactics at Majestic Speech, Except I Mean the Opposite of That

The biggest advance of the abortion industry in America has been the passage of Obamacare.”

  1. I saw her high five Rick Perry and then I threw up in my mouth a little bit.

  5. Well then, Obama’s Seat, maybe you’d be happier with the thoughts of a vietnam war hero, captain of industry, and world champion ping pong player…

    Stupid is as stupid does.

  7. She’s consistent if nothing. Never lets the facts get in the way of a good-sounding lie. As to RP, he’s just trying to sell books and look pretty.

  8. Aw. Someone’s still got the butt-hurt from Tuesday last week.

  9. @Trey: Me? Nah, I feel okay. Pretty awesome, actually. That said, I would post this if there were Ds by the name of everyone in Congress.

  11. @Obama’s Seat: I promise you, the two have nothing to do with each other. Do I wish it went the other way? Sure. But Palin is an entirely different subject.

  12. I seriously hope that she is on the presidential ticket in ‘12 — whether as a Republican or as an independent. Leave it at that.

  13. I think with Palin, there is a very straight forward litmus test: Does acceptance of her views result in a loss of knowledge?

According to the DMN report, Palin believes an executive order is nonbinding. How can Palin, or anyone else for that matter, set about changing the law to hew to their point of view if there is an absence of rudimentary understanding of the legal framework currently in place?

  14. Sarah Palin is anti-industry.

  15. @Laray.

Obama: “…no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions…”

News Item: “The Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) is providing $160 million to the State of Pennsylvania to set up a new high-risk insurance pool program that will include plans that have access to abortions, as part of a larger $5 billion commitment of taxpayer funds that will include abortion coverage for over 400,000 people nationwide.”

The EO was BS, Palin is right.

  16. Dear Frontburner: I like you much better when you avoid partisan bickering. It really harshes my mellow when my beloved local blog becomes a hate fest on either side. I know Palin was in town with Perry, so it’s indeed a local story. But I don’t read D Magazine for its political coverage (read: pontificating). My two cents.

  17. @Zac–No Nazi references this week? You really are falling into Sarah Palin’s thrall…

  18. @B.L. Powell: Fair enough.

  19. @Obama’s Seat:

Correlation is not causality. By that argument anything that does not expressly disallow abortions becomes an abortion enabler. So using that argument, is the passage of the new wet/dry law in Dallas a gigantic pro-drunk-driving advance? Only in politics can you throw away logic when the subject is not to your liking.

    @ 1:19 pm on November 11, 2010
  20. Also, google that whole “news” item. It’s been debunked 100 times.

    @ 1:29 pm on November 11, 2010
  21. So as not to burden B.L. Powell’s longing for non-political discussion on Frontburner, I will respond to OS’ comment with the utmost brevity.

Has it happened? Are abortions currently being federally funded under the Pennsylvania high-risk insurance pool program? If so, then the EO is being violated.

  22. Sarah Palin, like platinum, is a catalyst. With her in the mix you can win a Mark Twain Award for a body of work thinner than your ankle. Without her, you’re no Jon Stewart.

  23. You are falling right into the Palin trap and she loves it. I agree with B.L. Powell, enough of the either side bickering posts Zac, let’s have some more upbeat shenanigan threads filled with pictures of you guys on bikes or wearing uber trendy shirts with patterns and cuffs(my personal favorite thread).

    @ 2:15 pm on November 11, 2010
  24. @Avid Reader: Okay, but that means I have to buy some new shirts.

  25. @Bill7

“Debunked”? Hardly. More like “forced to clarify” the original language after the inititial press releases correctly identified the contradiction.

  26. Rick and Sarah remind me of that cheerleading couple on SNl played by Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri. I hope she ended the pep rally with a round off into the splits. Two Four Six Eight, Aborted babies, we do hate.

  29. Palin; the fruitcake arrived in Dallas just in time for Christmas. Just as I always remember it being-hard and dry on the outside and difficult to swallow.
