I have an appointment at 3 (I know, I know, but it was made weeks before). I’ll be discretely watching on my iPhone, thanks to the MLB app, which better the heck work.
A Frontburnervian sent me this, and I think we should all take our caps off, bow our heads, and repeat:
Our Rangers, who art in Texas, Winners be thy name. The Yanks will come, they will be done, in New York as they will be in Texas. Give us this day, a series win, and forgive us our bullpen losses and lead us not into the offseason after this series, but deliver us a Championship to …Texas. For the Rangers shall be the 2010 ALDS, ALCS, and World Series Champions forever and ever. AMEN!!

I don’t think your MLB app will work for video. It doesn’t in the regular season due to “blackout restrictions.” If it does, let us know, ok?
(audio should be just fine)
Bobby Valentine says on ESPN today that he “is not pulling for C.J. Wilson”, but expects him to pitch a great game. Either A, he still holds a grudge for being fired midway through 1992 or B, he’s posturing for Girardi’s job if he bolts. I think most Texas fans still hold a special place in their hearts for Bobby V. I wonder if he knows that. Oh well, GO RANGERS.
Will do, Droopy. And if it doesn’t, I will shake my fist in the general direction of the DMN’s Travis Hudson, who got my hopes up on the Technology blog.
But for the record, if you’re at work and want to at least hear the game, the app’s on sale for $4.99 (instead of the normal $14.99) until Nov. 5.
@Bethany Watching it on my iPhone has worked for me twice this postseason. But you have to buy the MLB.tv postseason package for about $10. And it’s only worked via WiFi. Well worth it if you are a die hard Rangers fan at work today.
Josh is wrong. All you need to watch is the $4.99 MLB app – which works fine in 3G and great in WiFi. The Quad video mode rules.
Anyone happen to know if there’s a video stream available on the internet?
ernest t: you can go to MlB.com and click on mlb.tv. The game will come up, and if you aren’t a subscriber you can sign up for $9.95. That’ll get you the World Series, too.
If you have been laid off by a major media company within the past 7 years, you don’t need any kind of app — you just sit in your comfortable recliner and, thanks to an understanding wife who believes in you as a writer, you can watch the game on the big shiny TV screen in the living room. After the World Series, you can sell the TV and some primo blood and pay for your cab ride out to Arlington for the parade.
One day I’ll learn to read the thread prior to posting. Thanks BA!
5-0 yankees. It looks like game 6 is probable.
I may or may not be sucking my thumb and rocking back and forth.
Where is zen CJ? He needs to calm the F down! Nelly and Hamilton need to pull out some clutch hits again!
Where did everyone go?
So does it work? I’ve had the app all year. Do you need to pay additional $$?
DD: I could tell it would’ve worked without additional money, if I had been some place with a stronger signal or wireless. Instead, I was in an interior office with about 3 bars of signal. At one point I got it loaded up, but because of the weaker signal, the video was very choppy.
So the verdict? If you can use your wireless connection, or can get at least 4 bars of signal, you’ll probably get to watch the game.
@Old Man I stand corrected. Figured out what went wrong. Had location services switched off for the At Bat app.
