Leading Off (10/19/10)

1-3. I know Bethany already reported this, but come on: how often does this happen? And so: Rangers 8, Yankees 0! Rangers 8, Yankees 0! Rangers 8, Yankees 0! Rangers 8, Yankees 0! Rangers 8, Yankees 0! Rangers 8, Yankees 0! Rangers 8, Yankees 0! Rangers 8, Yankees 0! Rangers 8, Yankees 0! Rangers 8, Yankees 0!

  1. To those of you just now jumping on the Rangers bandwagon, welcome aboard. I’ve been here since last Thursday, you fair-weather fans.

  5. This Leading Off is about as big a give-up as those Yankees fans displayed last night when they all left the game at the top of the ninth, as the Rangers were driving in six runs.

    Well done!

  6. My two favorite baseball occurrences are:

    1) A Rangers Win
    2) A Yankees Loss

    Last night was GOLD!

  7. @Tim: I think you underestimate how impossible it was to do that on my phone. Or at least how long it took.

  8. Let us hope the Rangers take Zac’s ‘cut and paste’ approach to their game and keep winning!

  9. @DMB: If my efficiency can be the light that guides them, I will take that weight humbly on my strong, manly shoulders.

  10. We were lucky enough to be at the game last night. It was great when the Yankees fans started leaving and we could see the other Rangers fans in attendance. It was a little intimidating to be in such a minority in NYC but the Yankees fans were much harder on their players than they were on us.

  11. How happy are we that Mark Cuban didn’t win the bidding war last summer?

I’m this happy! [holds hands really far apart]

  12. so, who’s got a world series ticket for your phavorite phillies phan?

i will pick you up at your door, drive you to A-ton, buy you food and beer all night, and return you to your front door (we can also stop anywhere else you may like before or after the game and i will provide you with a reasonable, but limited, amount of singles that you’re free to share with the staff at your discretion)

i promise not to wear my Ryan Howard (or Brian Dawkins or Dr. J or John LeClair) jersey and promise to only curse when absolutely necessary

but i will be cheering for the phillies to win and the rangers to play well, but lose 6-5 in extra innings

    well?

  13. @JRP: Er, you may want to check the standings. Last I heard your Phillies were trailing the Giants 2 games to 1, with two left to play in San Francisco. Here’s hoping your guys get to start enjoying the off-season on Friday.
