Your Open Texas Rangers v. New York Yankees Thread

I’ve read some moving stories today about people’s long, tortured relationship with the Texas Rangers and the absolute joy they are now feeling. One that stands out — I believe I saw this on the Twitter feed of Ben Rogers (of ESPN’s “Ben and Skin” show) — was from a man whose father died a month ago, who found out yesterday his pop had left him money specifically to buy World Series tickets. (Just got dusty in here again.) Anyway, it’s Friday, you’re probably not doing anything other than thinking about tonight’s game, so talk it up in the comments, InsideCorner-style. I’ll try to approve them as fast as I can.

Man, why did I have to go and bring up InsideCorner? Now I’m really having a sports cry. Damn you, Evan!

  2. Went to Freebirds on Beltline so I could conveniently drive up Inwood for Makers Mark. A college buddy from the ’80s is coming to my place to watch it. Oh, and bought a new big screen the day the Rangers clinched. Yes, it’s Time!

  3. The first words my Texas-born granddaughter learned were “Yankees suck.” We’re white-trash proud!

  4. not that i needed any inspiration to top up my yankees hatred but i watched the 2004 alcs episode of 30 for 30 the other day. alex rodriguez slapping the ball out of the glove? and his pathetic “that’s just the way my arm go” excuse? makes me so stabby.

seriously. let’s please destroy the yankees, ok?

  6. Oh, my heart hurts. I think I will sign off with a large tumbler of bourbon and the hope that I will not remember tonight when I wake up.
