Judge Ferchill and the Tarrant Co. Guardianship Ring

Has guardianship become a racket over in Tarrant County? That is the implication of Jeff Prince’s excellent report in the recent Fort Worth Weekly about the case of a partially senile  (and rich) woman who found herself under examination in Judge Pat Ferchill’s court. Ferchill was also the judge who held the secret ex  parte hearing in the Cunningham case.

  1. One thing I’d like to mention is how important it is to do some planning beforehand. There are mechanisms for designation of guardians, powers of attorney and trusts. Generally the courts intervene because people haven’t done that.

There’s a very helpful web site:
    http://texasprobate.com/
Glen Karisch is a very competent estate planning lawyer and has some of the forms there. One should consult with a lawyer before it is necessary.
    These are really sad stories.

    this is a sad story.

  2. Listen to Jurisprudence Hearings online from the TX Senate on June 24, 2010. You will hear that all the planning in the world means nothing in this court – and in so many courts throughout TX.

  3. Mr. Holston, These judge DO NOT LISTEN OR CARE WHAT THE ELDERLY, DISABLED, or their FAMILY’S WANT OR WANTED. THEY ARE PLAYING GOD, AND ALLOWING THEIR CLOSE TIES TO CASH IN ON IT. Will, POAs,… do not mean anything as long as the person is alive. That is what we were told, in court.

What do you call a judge who advances his (not yet) ex-wife and friends, and is reprimanded for it? What do you call it when other complaints on this judge are passed off as “not necessarily appropriate, but it is not a high enough rating for a reprimand”. This right after he was reprimanded for advancing his friends. My complaint and the one he was reprimanded for is not the only two. At a Senate Committee Meeting, in June, there was presented to the Senate, 3 other complaints on this judge.

If the Judicial Misconduct Commission slaps him on the wrist for one complaint, and not all, makes me wonder just how deep the corruption goes?

What do you call a judge who approves for a 95 year old incapacitated lady to change her will naming him, his “ex-wife”, his personal CPA, and others whom he appointed to guard and protect from extortion, abuse, and neglect? Yes one day incapacitated, the next totally capable of changing her will, and then within a few days, guess what, incapacitated again. WHAT DO YOU CALL THAT. This lady had left most of her estate to charity, that is what her original will stated.

There are several CORRUPT PROBATE COURT IN TEXAS. TARRANT AND DENTON COUNTY ARE BY FAR THE WORST, WITH THE MOST COMPLAINTS TO COME FORWARD. THERE IS A RACKET, AND OUR ELDERLY AND DISABLED ARE PAYING DEARLY. THE FAMILIES ARE HELPLESS TO STOP THESE ABUSES.

Thank you Wick Allison, and Jeff Prince, for allowing comments to these articles, so that we the family members who want to see loved ones back with their families (it is too late for my family, as my in-laws have passed away), who love them, and want to protect them and care for them.

  4. Judges are sworn to uphold the laws, city, county, state and constitutional. This judge and other judges are not doing their sworn duty. Ferchills court supposedly protects and maintains the Wards (Persons under their Guardianships. When things go wrong and he is made aware of it he dismisses it as it is nothing. There is no accountability, there is no protection there is no maintaing. The person is at the mercy of the do nothing court. The ocurt appointed service the wards are placed with are allowed to do whatever or nothing. This could and haa resulted in overmedication, neglect, and abuse and even death of non terminal persons. Where is the monitering of the public court appointed guardians? Why are complaints not addressed?
