In a move that mirrored much of his debut season with Your Dallas Mavericks, Shawn Marion made a strong move to the hoop only to ultimately blow it at the rim, bouncing out on the first day of play. I’ll let Tim or the Ghost of Eric Celeste jump on here to debate his poker-playing skills. (H/T: Ball Don’t Lie)

“With Marion drawing dead, the meaningless 10-Diamonds landed on the river to send Marion to the rail.”
Incorrect, he was not drawing dead. Any spade besides the 7 would have given him a flush.
And THAT is why I didn’t bother analyzing the hand. Thanks, Marcus. Unless you’re wrong, too, in which case I already take it back.
It’s difficult to analyze his play in the hand without knowing the action preflop, but he had to know he was behind when the SB check raised him an amount that was pretty much half his stack.
The turn card improved his chances, but he was still a big dog going into the river.
I’ve studied this poker hand and, after much thought, have come to the conclusion that Eric Celeste plays cards about as well as he plays golf.
