Wick Allison Is the 340th Most Powerful Person in Dallas [Cough, Cough]

A mysterious outfit (Big Bob dug a little into their whereabouts) has come out with a ranking of the 500 most powerful people in Dallas. Our own beloved Wick Allison sits at No. 340 on the list. I see, though, that he’s ahead of: Gerald Turner, Patrick Sands, Craig Watkins, Eddie Bernice Johnson, Claude Albritton, Nelda Pickens, and Terrell Owens (!). And Jeremy Halbreich comes in at No. 462. So let’s just say the list is dubious, at best.

Over 1/3 of the people on that list were simply born into money and ride the coattails of their parents or grandparents via trust fund. They can neither move or shake anything in town.

Hmmm… Very dubious. And many, many omissions of well-known business leaders. Shouldn’t Stan Richards make the list?

The list is bogus. You’re telling me Harold Simmons is more powerful than Gordon Keith? I don’t think so.

I just spotted my old boss on the list in the 100-200 range. His name is misspelled. Does that take him down a few spots, or?

There are dead people on this list. There are couples who have been divorced for over two years on this list. There are mis-spellings and inaccuracies galore. What exactly, is the definition of “power,” here? There are many, many people missing from this list and some laughable inclusions. I would be curious what the methodology was for this list.

I’m sure the list was compiled to generate page views…to then sell ads around. Doesn’t matter how accurate it is…if you are all taking the time to follow the link and spend valuable time reading it.

This list is beyond funny. Terry Bradshaw has taken so many blows to the head he can barely function and he’s ranked 104.

Robb’s right – this is a ploy to generate ads. I think Milestone Electric should jump all over this. They’ll fix it in a flash.

@tinkerbell.. I so agree… too many mistakes to even begin to sort out.. it’s subjective about who they pick.. I don’t care about that but seriously how can it be taken seriously if they misspell TRACY ROWLETT.. for gods sake.. he has be an anchor for over 30 years… He is the best in my eyes and it’s laughable that a list would misspell TRACY. and Lyda is HILL… she deserves that recognition as she has “earned” it…. not because she is part of the Hunt family.
