Something Else To Do in Dallas This Weekend: Rev. Horton Heat Rocks for Kiddos

As someone who knows a thing or two about a thing or two when it comes to putting on fundraisers for elementary schools (mainly because I watch my wife work her butt off), I gotta say I’m impressed with the shindig that Stonewall Elementary is throwing tomorrow. The Shake, Rattle, & Roll silent auction features not just the Charming Gardners but the Reverend Horton Heat, too. One wonders, given that it’s a DISD event, whether the Reverend will perform “Bales of Cocaine” or any of his other less-than-PC numbers.

  1. Sigh. I left the M’s for allegedly better public schools. Stonewallers snag the great Rev. and I’ll be lucky if our PTA big hairs are willing to play an Amy Grant or Kajagoogoo record at our fundraiser.

  2. We had eight alumni bands at our Woodrow 80th celebration and that didn’t even include Boys Named Sue, Steve Miller or Dusty Hill..last fall we had a Halloween Party with three alum bands at Sons of Hermann and a student group of freshmen and sophomores will be playing at the next party.
Oh and the Wipeouts from the class of ‘69 play for a benefit tonight at the Eagles Lodge 8500 Arturo
